I would like to share a little about the person behind this venue—and the heart with which it was created.
Before LAMI: A Nurse, Poet, Painter, and Florist
I spent many years working in a hospital—a world that seemed far removed from weddings. Caring for patients, however, taught me habits that have stayed with me ever since.
I learned to notice someone’s expression before they spoke, to ask whether they were uncomfortable before they had to mention it, and to keep every promise I made.
I was also someone who loved writing and painting. I wrote poetry and became a published poet, and I later contributed a series of personal essays to the Maeil Business Newspaper.
I held a solo exhibition of my oil paintings and once entered a senior modeling competition, where I was named Queen. Looking back, I really did explore many different paths.
Earning my florist certification grew from the same creative instinct. Filling a space with flowers felt very much like painting a picture.
I have always loved making things—whether with words, paint, or flowers. There is something deeply satisfying about taking an idea and bringing it into a form that others can see and experience.

I carried that thought with me for a long time. I kept searching for work that could bring all of these different parts of my life together.
Opening LAMI Convention Wedding on August 1, 2021
Then I found this work.
A wedding is one of life’s most meaningful days. I felt that creating such a day would give purpose to everything I had learned about caring for people, writing stories, and shaping beauty.
At the time, I did not know everything about the wedding industry. But I was certain of one thing.
I wanted to design one of the most important moments in people’s lives—and to create it with the same care I would give to a work of art.
My goal was never to make LAMI as large or as busy as possible. If I could care for each couple properly and continue to find joy in the work, that would be enough.
What I Hope to Create at LAMI Convention Wedding
I never wanted couples and their families to feel like numbers on a schedule. Hosting many weddings in a single day might increase revenue, but it would inevitably reduce the time and attention we could give to each celebration.
That is why LAMI accepts only one or two private events per day. Each couple receives enough time to celebrate without being rushed—and to remain at the heart of their own wedding from beginning to end.
💡 I personally create the floral arrangements. Handing that work to someone else would make the celebration feel less personal to me. Styling a space with flowers is much like painting, and I want every wedding to feel like a work of art created for one couple alone.
I also decided to conduct the consultations and oversee the wedding day myself. I believe the person who first listens to a couple’s story should stay with them through the entire process.
A celebration does not need to be extravagant to be meaningful. Whatever a couple’s budget or circumstances may be, I want every family who comes to LAMI to feel that they have been treated with genuine care.
There will always be more for us to learn and improve. But when couples and their families leave this space, there is one thing I hope they will say.

To earn those words, I will continue to give my full attention to every couple I meet.
